Staff Interior Designer

SR/A Interior Design, a full-service commercial interior design firm specializing in multifamily residential projects, seeks a Staff Interior Designer to play a supporting role in our new construction and renovation multifamily projects remotely and hands-on at its Chevy Chase studio. For consideration for candidacy for this position, please submit a portfolio of past work. Responsibilities will include: DOCUMENTATION • Contributing to drawing elevations, sections, RCPs and assisting with documentation whenever necessary • Assisting, as needed, during the construction administration process to ensure that construction elements will be installed and executed in a way that honors the integrity of the design. • Assisting with sourcing material and lighting reselections in the case of owner request, discontinued products, or VE need DESIGN • Assisting in project needs primarily programming phase through design development as well as procurement phases • Assisting with the development of special treatments, art features, focal lighting elements, etc. • Participating in material selections and documentation of selections • Participating in the creation of client presentations Professional experience required: • Career in interior design profession for 3-6 years (preferred) • Experience in all phases of the procurement process and experience with furniture specification • Familiarity with commercial grade material vendors • Familiarity with Multifamily Residential (preferred), Commercial, or Hospitality design fields • Comfort working in a deadline driven environment • Capability to handle multitasking • Degree in Interior Architecture / Design or Architecture required • NCIDQ Certificate holder preferred Software experience required: • AutoCAD proficiency (3 years minimum preferred) • REVIT / BIM proficiency (3 years minimum) • Studio Designer or similar procurement software • Microsoft Office Suite • InDesign • Adobe Acrobat • SketchUp Flexible Work Environment: • Ability to work from home office and to travel to company headquarters in Chevy Chase, MD for meetings, training, etc.
