This could increase depending on situational factors.Job SummaryIn partnership with the University Interior Designer, this position: Collaborates with Facilities and national/local consultants on Capital projects to identify scope and determine project responsibilitiesReviews overall program and defines project objectivesCollaborates with consultants and end-users to determine furniture and finish optionsSelects finishes for projects which enhance and improve the University’s image and comply with University Design Standards and GuidelinesInforms consultants on past experiences with finishes to avoid inferior finishes from entering contract documentsReviews furniture/finish options proposed by national/local consultants with client(s) for approval in accordance with UK Quality StandardsDevelops preliminary furniture budget based on overall project budget and scopeIdentifies furniture dealer(s) with whom to partner based on furniture package procurement contractsEstablishes realistic project timeline with milestone dates to ensure furniture procurement meets end users’ anticipated move-in dateOversees preparation/processing of client contract amendmentsEnsures successful project implementation, coordination, and management and maintains project information ‘current’ relative to project timeline established at onset In addition, the Interior Designer Project Manager: Researches and analyzes the client’s goals and requirements and develops documents, drawings, and diagrams outlining those needsFormulates preliminary space plans and two- and three-dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate the client’s program needsDevelops space and furniture plans in AutoCAD using CAP library softwareProvides client(s) with 3D models depicting all furniture and finishes represented in the project to ensure end user satisfactionDelivers high quality designs that enhance the University imageComplies with University Design Standards and GuidelinesIs on time and within project budgetReviews program and designs with clients and all interested UK parties to ensure expectations and requirements are met and/or exceededGenerates furniture specifications with dealer(s) to ensure all selections maintain a long-lasting appearance after project completionInitiates procurement of furniture specifications with the CPMD Business OfficeTracks all furniture delivery dates and coordinate deliveries to the project with the General ContractorDeals directly with furniture representatives as needed on quality issues to secure a satisfactory outcomeRetains all completed project finish schedules, furniture specifications, furniture/finish presentation boards, furniture invoices, furniture floor plans, including all project images generated on the projectEnsures project documents are processed, retained, and fi led for historical referenceEnsures compliance with Department and University Records Retention Requirements Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesMS Windows/Office; AutoCAD, Blueprint Reading Driver’s License — Preferred Demonstrated experience in making indoor spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting essential, functional, and decorative items, including colors, lighting, materials, etc. Any candidate offered a position may be required to pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by University of Kentucky Human Resources. * Please select the response that best represents your full years paid, full-time, employment experience in customer service, interior design, project management, space planning and renovations, inventory, office/clerical, higher ed, administration. *If you have part-time work experience that you want to include, please refer to the following to determine your credit of full years of related employment experience:35+ hours worked per week = full credit for time worked28-34 hours worked per week = 75% credit for time worked18-27 hours worked per week = 50% credit for time worked9-17 hours worked per week = 25% credit for time worked< 9 hours worked per week = no credit given for time worked NoneSome, but less than one full year of employment listed aboveAt least 1 full year but less than 2 years of employment listed aboveAt least 2 full years but less than 3 years of employment listed aboveAt least 3 full years but less than 4 years of employment listed aboveAt least 4 full years but less than 5 years of employment listed aboveAt least 5 full years but less than 6 years of employment listed aboveAt least 6 full years but less than 7 years of employment listed aboveAt least 7 full years but less than 8 years of employment listed aboveAt least 8 full years but less than 9 years of employment listed aboveAt least 9 full years or more of employment listed above.
